Welcome to the Makit Fenland Fair

If you love textile crafts then Makit Fenland Fair is the perfect day out!

Come along to Burgess Hall on Westwood Road in St. Ives on Saturday 6th October and find yourself spoilt for choice as you browse stall after stall dedicated to the materials, tools and accessories you need to practice your favourite textile crafts.

This is also a great opportunity to chat to experts about the techniques and materials they use, or meet up with fellow textile enthusiasts who share your passion for crafting.

Now in its 28th year, the Makit Fenland Fair is one of the UK’s longest-running textile craft supplies fairs. As such, it attracts regional and national craft suppliers, as well as some incredibly talented exhibitors and demonstrators.

You’ll love the opportunity to shop and stock up on supplies and view our exhibitions and experience the techniques presented by our demonstrators. If you need to rest your feet or refuel, there are two café areas where you can relax and chat.

We’re offering a special ‘Early Bird’ discount for advance ticket purchases for the 28th Makit Fenland Fair (available until 21st September 2018).

Relax and recharge your batteries in the two café areas in the main hall and mezzanine area where you will find a selection of savouries, sandwiches, pastries and hot and cold food and drinks. These are ideal spaces to catch up with your crafting friends, enjoy a leisurely chat or look through your favourite crafting purchases while you rest your feet and have a cuppa.

accessibility logo

We understand that some of our visitors have mobility issues and have questions about accessibility whenever they enjoy a day out.

From dedicated parking for Blue Badge holders to assisted access to the mezzanine floor, we hope that every visitor will have the opportunity to enjoy all parts of the Fenland Fair.

You can access the foyer and main hall of the venue via a small lift from the pavement adjacent to the visitor access. This will be manned throughout the day.

As in previous years, you will find the demonstrations, guilds and exhibitions up on the mezzanine floor. We will provide wheelchair assistance to anyone who needs support moving to and from the main hall to the mezzanine floor via the lift in the adjacent leisure centre - just ask at the ticket desk.

If you have any questions or concerns about accessibility at the venue, please do contact us in advance so that we can ensure that you enjoy the event as much as our more mobile visitors.
