The Makit Fenland Fair 25th anniversary lacemaking competition

This free competition is open to all and in response to numerous requests, we have created the new category for Lace Teachers and Designers in addition to the existing categories of Novice and Experienced lacemaker.

This will give many teachers the opportunity to present their work to the wider lacemaking community and above all, show budding lacemakers what can be achieved. A single prize of a £50.00 makit gift voucher will be awarded to the winner of this section.

Three categories:

• The Novice – for those who started making after January 2013

• The experienced lacemaker

• Teacher – lacemakers who have taught lace professionally

The competition sees entrants from across the UK invited to demonstrate their prowess with just one piece of lace other than a bookmark, no larger than 30 x 30cm (12” x 12”). Based on the theme of ‘silver,’ lacemakers are free to use techniques and materials of their choice.

Our judging panel will be headed up by Hazel Calcutt, chair elect of the Lace Guild and will be announcing their decisions at 3:30pm and handing out prizes for each category.

Why not enter and possibly win one of the fabulous prizes for both the novice and experienced lacemaker!

First prize£50 worth of Makit gift vouchers

Second prize£30 worth of Makit gift vouchers
